Food can help relieve pain, and all of the foods I mention here (and many more) help relieve pain—but they’ll work even better if you also avoid or minimize pain-causing, pro-inflammatory foods. Before you take that aspirin, hang on a minute. Think back over your day: Did you eat something that might be triggering a reaction?
A few of the biggest offenders:
1. beer
2. cheese
3. chocolate
4. corn
5. gluten (especially from wheat)
6. milk
7. monosodium glutamate (MSG)
8. oranges
9. peanuts
10. processed meats
11. soy
12. sugar
13. vinegar
14. wine
15. yeast
These foods cause aches and pain for a variety of reasons—some obvious, some surprising—and we’ll talk about why in an upcoming newsletter.
