From the Eat to Live Cookbook by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.
Smoothies and blended salads are great when there is just no time in your schedule to eat a salad and chew it well, thus allowing your body to absorb the beneficial phytochemicals contained inside the plant cells. Blending a mixture of fruits and raw, leafy vegetables is an effective way to increase your daily nutrient intake and give yourself a healthy, delicious, portable, and easy breakfast. So don’t use the hectic holiday season as a reason for skipping a nutrient-dense breakfast. Try the quick smoothie recipe below next time you want to make a nutritious morning meal but are short on time.
